Computational modelling is used extensively to assess fire engineering proposals and includes Smoke Modelling, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Evacuation Modelling, Radiation Modelling and Structural Fire Engineering analysis. Such modelling is an invaluable tool which allows multiple design scenarios to be evaluated in a relatively short space of time. The data generated by the respective models is refined and presented in a concise format, providing the approvals authorities with sufficient information to take a balanced view of the alternative solution.
